The Birds Keep Singing is a flexible package, it is a mixture of filmed theatre segments and accompanying classroom lessons.
The resources could be used as an immersive day of delivery in your school, beginning in the morning with the first part of the story and then stopping in between the filmed story sections throughout the day to explore the topics being raised in the play within the bespoke lesson plans.
However, you can choose to deliver the production and lessons over several days or even weeks, to suit your own needs and timetable.
In terms of the target age of audience for the production, we have pitched the narrative and tone at a level we feel will resonate most effectively with children aged 9 -13 years old (years 4 through to year 8)
The lessons to run alongside the drama, designed to extend the students’ experience, were created mainly for the upper primary aged audience, Key Stage 2, though some lessons will work equally well with Lower KS3 audiences too.
